National Hickory Play Day

May 7 is when this event to spread the 'gospel' of wooden stick golf is set to occur.  I'm now living in Virginia and getting in touch with the coordinator from the VaHGA to find out how I might participate to enlighten the techno-driven 'heathen' to the joys of playing golf hickory style.  Any ideas as to what type of event(s) can be held to present and celebrate the hickory game this upcoming Sunday in May?   Looking forward to your response, JeffSee More

I am overwhelmed by the response to our tragic loss. The outpouring of wishes, food, labor, contributions, etc is beyond comprehension. Thank you all.

To lose a parent is to lose touch with…

Back injury -- any advice?

While in Scotland, I hurt my back for the first time in my golfing career.  It started suddenly in the lower right back, which put me on the ground, and eventually worked it way across the rest of my lower back. Afterward, I tried to play but couldn't really turn through the ball consistently without feeling sharp pain.  I want to get the back ready for Mid-Pines. So far I have gotten a deep tissue massage, which helped, and will get some more, am taking 800 mg Motrin each, will see an…

Roaring Gap a Hit Again

Jay Harris once again hosted a wonderful Hickory event at Roaring Gap CC. The course is a treat to pay using hickories and the greens are terrific. Weather was perfect for the 24 players and this is something you should not miss next September. Thanks to Jay for all his efforts.
