Sad News

I've just learned of the passing of Sandra Millender, wife and best friend of Charles Millender. A few years back Charles was a regular at CHGA events, but hasn't played much golf at all over the past few years. Nonetheless, Sandra was present at a lot of our events and a good friend to hickory golf. Charles, before moving to Southern Pines, was a member at Alamance CC which boasts a fine Donald Ross design. CHGA played many events there sponsored by Charles. Our hearts go out to the entire…See More

Broken shaft

Might have hit 20 balls (35 and 50 compression) with my mashie and the shaft is cracking. What do I do? Buy a new shaft from Louisville golf or rob peter to pay paul? I have another mashie by another club maker. I'd have to plug the pin hole and drill a new one if that is the case. Comments?...

Hello all and thank you for accepting me into this organization. I have just recently discovered and acquired some hickory golf clubs and have found a new spark for the game of golf with these. Looking for any information and direction as I am in the midst of putting together my first set. Any information and help would be greatly appreciated. I look forward to hopefully be involved in future events and getting to know some of you.

Equipment Help

Hello, I just joined the group last night and am looking forward to playing. I love the tradition and history of the game. Does anyone know of a good source of hickory clubs other than the bay? Swap meets etc.. possibly in NC?

Thanks

I am overwhelmed by the response to our tragic loss. The outpouring of wishes, food, labor, contributions, etc is beyond comprehension. Thank you all.

An anvil too soon silenced. My son Evan died today. The son any parent would wish for, the husband and father too good to be true, the dedicated farrier all horses dream of, went out to work around his new farm and for no apparent reason just died.

To lose a parent is to lose touch with…
