Lang Willie - Chapman 2 man team tournament at Hyland Golf Club

December 10, 2022 all day
This year's 2 man team Chapman tournament will be held for the first time at everyone's favorite hickory venue, Hyland Golf Club in Southern Pines.First tee time is 10:27.  We will need an even number of players to make this work, so the field will be capped at 24 players, with additional folks being added as the numbers permit. Our rate is $45.  I don't believe that we've conducted the Lang Willie at Hyland before, so this should be a blast.  For those not remembering what the Chapman is, each…See More

New to Hickory Golf

Hello! I've had some hickory clubs and decided to start using them. Do you play with gutta percha balls? Do you walk or is there an option to ride in a car? I have difficulty walking. I'd love to play at Pinecrest, but am a total rookie. Do you have hickory handicaps. My email is holliscross621@yahoo.com. John Riordan

Jay Harris

Sad news today. Jay Harris has been admitted to a Hospice facility in Burlington, NC where he has resided for the last several years. His stroke and surgeries from the melanoma that had spread to his brain are the contributing factors. Jay was one the founders of the Carolina Hickory Golf Association. He considered himself the Pied Piper of hickory golf in the Sandhills area and brought many new players into the fold. I will keep everyone posted on this site with updates and…

potentially getting out of Hickory golf

I am considering getting out of hickory golf due to other commitments. Rich Schmidt and many others have done a fantastic job of organizing and lining up golf tournaments for our group.

I have a tremendous selection of old and new left handed hickory clubs that I may soon be selling.

If you know of someone left handed that has an interest in left handed clubs please let me know.

Phone is 252-714-4090, email is bryant@kittrellandarmstrong.com.
