Quick report from our day at Highland. Great weather and a very enjoyable course made for a wonderful  day. The challenging greens definitely had an effect on scoring. This was just a hickory play day with no team competition. First time player Garth Bishop from Murrells Inlet, SC was medalist with an 84. Well done sir.The seafood buffet received multiple visits from our crew as we enjoyed animated conversation after the round. Highland Country Club in Fayetteville - Friday, March 15 9:00am at Highland Country Club

March 15, 2024 from 9am to 2pm
We have a hickory play day on the popular Hyland Golf Club. It will be interesting to compare our scores with a full bag to our five club efforts. They have kindly cut the fees from $80 to $70 for our group. There is no formal competition, but you’re encouraged to play a match within your group. First tee time is 11:39. Fortunately, it looks like the rain will be coming in after we have finished play.See More

Lang Willie Results - Andrews and Valenti edge out Dawson and Burton

Another great day at Hyland as everyone enjoyed the Chapman alternate shot format. It turned into a two horse race as Bill Andrews and Lee Valenti dramatically took top honors as they were the final score posted with a sizzling net 58. They edged out Reid Dawson and Lee Burton who crafted a net 59. There were number of other good scores. Everyone enjoyed the pleasure of not having to suffer the consequences of their own bad shots while also being put in bad predicaments by their esteemed…See More

New to Hickory Golf

Hello! I've had some hickory clubs and decided to start using them. Do you play with gutta percha balls? Do you walk or is there an option to ride in a car? I have difficulty walking. I'd love to play at Pinecrest, but am a total rookie. Do you have hickory handicaps. My email is holliscross621@yahoo.com. John Riordan
